Air brakes off, the Hendry Goods Vehicle powers into Christmas

Apologies for the lack of reports, one was missed due to divine intervention and one by legal intervention. But the legal team got picked for the 3s this week, so gloves are off.
Away at Marden is always tough and coming on the back of a lean spell and during biblical weather, the portents were not good. Well soothsayers, have at ye, for the fours are back.
After a press that would have left Pep gasping in awe, Billane nicked the ball and played in Parker, who came very close to matching the ball striking of Rudduck, but certainly smashed the back of the net. Not to be outdone, Rudduck then demonstrated how to really hit the cover off the ball, twice, to put Ash in a comfortable and well deserved lead. The 4th goal was another slick short corner that technically was touched in by Parker, but as he nicked one off Billane a few weeks ago, I’m giving this one to him. Fourth I hear you cogitate, what about the third? Go back and read it again and do try and pay attention 007.
Marden fought and tussled but to be fair, Ash were always comfortable in this game and probably should have added to their score.
So, semi truth done, it’s nitty gritty time.
Hockey in the 21st century, our three best players today are all BCC boys. In fact, to choose between Wells and Lush for PoM proved so problematic that in the end I decided to give it to myself.
Two of them were also involved in joint Champagne moments, one for hitting a foot wide target from 5 yards away with a toe smasher, and one for sticking a foot out, and connecting, from 5 inches away.
Mention also has to be made of Hammond, who tried to engage in an existential debate but picked the wrong person, at least he got a nice little rest for his efforts.
In truth, this was an excellent performance, from first to last whistle, everyone worked hard, communicated, got stuck in, went the extra mile, did the hard yards, ran themselves into the ground, left nothing out there and any other hackneyed cliches you care to add. The main thing was we got back to having fun. Well winning too. After all, winning isn’t everything, it’s the only thing.
Thanks to our faithful travelling support and to Hendo for getting us organised. Have a good Christmas, let’s do this all again next year.
