So 1-0 might not be a “topple” but it’s another 1 in the W column and and another 0 in the A column

The sun shines on the righteous, and sometimes, on us too. Today was an all comers for the sun day, in every way.
Two teams, played 3 won 3, tense and taught and only October.
Ash started the game well, the bit in the middle was pretty good and the end was also excellent. Take your Curates egg and boil it. Or scramble. Just don’t poach it.
The hockey, the maturity, the communication and the teamwork were all top notch, a true game for the highlight reel.
With PoM George Lush steadying the ship, Coxall and Rudduck were unleashed to cause havoc in the Holcombe defence on numerous occasions. Indeed, if Lush had been in charge 15th April 1912, James Cameron would be a good few Oscar’s worse off. Do keep up 007.
Lush was also responsible for the Champagne moment, when he found himself in the opposition D and promptly suffered an altitude induced nose bleed.
The truth is Ash dominated this game and every member of the team deserve a glowing mention, but the Super League Grand Final kicks off soon so I can’t spend the time naming them all. Except Hammond who pushed Lush close for PoM, Billane and Wotherds who commanded the line, Parker who was as tricksy as changing a plug fuse, Murphy who didn’t put a foot wrong, Redman who was in maximum Pac Man mode, Knights who charged mercilessly in his new role and youngster Wells who took to the game like a worn ball takes to the strip in the sub continent.
A good win, yes, a good team performance, oh hell yeah!
And in true Oscar style….
I’d like to thank Skippy Hendry and Groot for running the bench, to Sue, Rosie and Sue too for their support, it was great to see Charlie Rudduck and BA legend Ron Selfe too, last but by no means least, thanks to Chloe Bush and Laurence Ball for umpiring.
